Back to Sabrina

Now that Kiss is finished, I'm trying to finish Sabrina. I think she will be a lovely companion to Roses of Provence above my staircase. I will use the same frame and they can face each other.

Mirabilia The Kiss is done !

I just finished this lovely piece last night, hence the wrinkles and unwashed appearance :)
The beadwork is absolutely amazing on  one. I stitched it on a 28 count ivory even weave.

Cat and Mouse from Este

I don't think I've posted this yet. It's a pattern from the Russian company, Este. It's converted from a painting. My friend bought me a copy of the pattern, and the second photo is her completed stitching. It's so very realistic!

The Kiss from Mirabilia

This is one of my many ongoing wips that's I'd like to finish by the end if this year. It's really a beautiful design, with stunning beadwork.

Chatelaine Persian Iris Garden

I haven't worked in this in a couple years, but it's finally calling to me again. It's really one of my favorite Chatelaine designs and I would love to see it finished.

Update on Dolce and a new start!

I finished two more pages on Gk's Dolce.
I also started a new Haed design. I haven't had much luck with the previous Haed designs I've attempted, I usually get really bored with them. I'm not sure why, I don't experience that problem with Gk's, Chatelaines, or Mirabilias. So I'm trying again, this is one of my favorites: Butcher's Ballet Pigs. I just think it's so happy and charming.

Dolce from Golden Kite , 11 page done

I've been jumping around a bit on this one because I really want to see the different parts:)
It's moving well, some parts are more confetti heavy, like the flowers and greenery. Others are really fast and at times I've been able to knock out a page in 2 days! Tent stitching is great:)

Titania is framed , and a gift for a stitching friend.

Got her framed at Michaels, but Js DYI get the mat at a specialty framing shop. Michaels is not so good at custom frames in anything other than a square or rectangle.

This is Chatelaine Hummingbird Mandala minus the border. It is a gift for a special friend.

And... Now she's done:)

Here she is, all done, washed and ironed.
I took her to Michaels for framing to use the awesome framing coupon I got in the mail.

I can't believe she's almost done!

I started Titania in Jan 1 of this year and I think she will be done this week. I'm so pleased with how fast tent stitching is :))

New Project

I usually plan my new project for a long time but this one just reached out and grabbed me with both hands. I couldn't stop thinking about it, I absolutely love the colors, the draped clothing, her beautiful face, the flowers, the water- everything! So I just started her:)
It's called Dolce Far Niente, from Golden Kite. It's huuugggeee, something like 140 pages. It's going pretty fast so far, 5 pages in, I'm tenting her on 25 count lugana.

I don't want to stop, but I really need to finish off Titania ( Michaels has a great framing coupon that expires at the end of July)
I also am stitching a BIG gift for a friend which I will post when it's done. ( hint - it's a Charelaine)

This is the finished picture.

Titania from Este

I've finished another row of Titania, leaving about 6 pages (some of which are partials) The hardest part is her hair, which is almost done! She is a bit wrinkly from my hoop.
 I love her:)

Still Life with Fruit framed!

So after a couple attempts, I finally got this back framed correctly. It gave the framer a lot of trouble because of the little gold filet inside the larger frame. They measured wrong originally, so the filet was actually covering a bit of the picture. Not ok! So I took it back and had to wait another week for the correct size to be ordered and assembled. So now it's home and hung up. :)

Elizabeth had made a return

I have been working on Elizabeth and the Lavender Sky, from Mirabilia. This is a project that has been hanging around for quite a while. I really need to finish it, she's far too pretty to be languishing hidden away:)

Framed Arezzo

My favorite framer at Michaels whipped her up in an off-the-shelf frame. It's so cheap that way! I love the antiquey color of the frame and the vines.

But meanwhile I had to bring back my Fruit to be reframed because they measured wrong and the frame cut off the edges.

She's done !!

This is Arezzo designed by Nora Corbett.
I stitched her on 28 count lugana that I dyed myself. She's so pretty and delicate, I just love looking at her:)

So this ended up being just like last year. No finishes until halfway through the year, but then several in a row. I find it's important to have finishes from time to time. It helps me keep my motivation up, especially for the long projects. So now I have Fruit and Arezzo, it's very gratifying. I don't think there will be anymore for a while though, nothing else is that close to completion. The closest would probably be Mira's The Kiss and Este Titania, which are both about halfway. I do also have Chatelaine Hummingbird done except for some beading. Hmmm.

So the problem is when I have a finish or two my mind starts turning to new starts....

HAPPY DANCE!!!

Still Life with Fruit from Golden Kite is done!! I started it almost 2 years ago, but of course I worked on other projects during that time. It's stitched on 18 count  aida, 42 pages, full crosses. Can't wait to get it framed, I just got a great framing coupon from Michaels:)

Only 1 and a half pages left!!!

I can't believe it's almost done. The last part has dragged and now that its almost done I'm a bit sad! I've been working on this Golden Kite  pattern for 2 years.

Halfway on Titania :)))

I'm still struggling with her hair and all the confetti involved, but when I stop and look at her it's all worth it:)

Arezzo from Nora Corbett

I ordered this chart all the way from Italy. It was a freebie designed by Nora for a Mirabilia celebration in Arezzo, Italy. A needlework store there made it available as part of a mini-kit with beads and linen. I didn't like the linen so I substituted my own dyed 28 count fabric. Just started her, the chart is a bit hard to read because it's hand-drawn.

The Kiss from Mirabilia

I am enjoying this one soooo much, it flows  easily and all the beads and kreinik are lots of fun.

Titania update

Really nice pattern. I was able to knock out 2 pages in 3 days due to DH being out of town!

Golden Kite Still life with Fruit

Only 4 pages left! Unfortunately I seem to have reached the point where those last few pages really draaaaaag. I'm having serious issues with staying motivated with this project. I really want to see it done and framed though, so I will have to persevere.

I'm sooo enjoying all the bling and beads in this pattern. They're a beautiful couple too;)

The Kiss

This is one of my favorite Mirabilia designs, I'm so happy to have started it:)

Titania 4 more pages done

She is just about a quarter done!
I started her January 1st, and I'm tent stitching her on 25 count.

Friday, February 7, 2014

Titania update

9 pages done, out of about 35. The smoothness of her face is really remarkable, I'm really impressed with this pattern. Gotta say the confetti stitching in her hair is a major pita 😝

Sunday, February 2, 2014

Only 6 pages left!!

Fruit update, I completed the row and only have 6 pages left in the last row!

Fruit with Still Life Update

Finally finished this cute little bluebird down on the bottom right of the picture. It was crazy confetti city and seemed to take forever! My husband says he can't wait for me to finish this piece, it's a favorite of his. Only 8 pages out of 42 left:))

Titania update

Truckin right along, getting a bit bogged down in her hair/ flowers. I don't usually stop before finishing a page, but I'm really feeling the need to switch projects for a while.

Monday, January 13, 2014

Titania update

4 pages done since the beginning of January! I love how fast tent stitching is:))
I also started Mirabilia's The Kiss, which I've had kitted for a long time.

New Project!

I started this beautiful portrait from a new company called Este. The portrait is Titania by Frank Bernard Dicksee. I'm stitching it 2 threads over one tent stitch  on 25 count evenweave. I started her on January 1st with my stitchy friend, thisis almost 2 pages done.

Here's what she will look like when done:
