Last Happy Dance of 2013 ~ Azure Mermaid by Mirabilia

This sweet mermaid only took a couple weeks and was a blast to stitch. It's stitched on 28 count sky fabric.

Madame is framed!

Just got her back from Michaels. The oval mat was unexpectedly expensive, but I like the combination with the frame. It's the same frame I used for Portrait of the Daughter, which I didn't realize till I got her home!

Happy Dance!!!! Madame is done!!

Here she is:)
She is stitched full cross on 18 count. She's already at the framers and I will post a pic when she comes back.

Started Sabrina!!

I've had her kitted up forever, so I'm sooo happy to finally start her:)
I'm stitching her on Sandcastle evenweave, so she'll match with Roses of Provence.

Madame update

Well, despite being distracted by Halloween stitching, I still managed to get a bunch done on Madame. I'm planning a new sal with my Russian stitchy friend so I need to finish her very soon. Only one more full page, then a few partials!

Barbara Ana Alley Quartet

This is another Halloween project, this year I've really been into them. I think these kitties are so cute and whimsical. I used glow-in-the-dark floss for the eyes and fish bones.

Golden Kite Madame update

So I'm trying to finish Madame by the end of the year. I've finished 20 of about 27 pages, some if which are partials. I think I can do it!

Mirabilia Halloween Fairy DONE - *update*now framed

And just in time!! So fun to stitch, tons of bling and I put a tiny silver spider in one of the webs. I'm going to frame her ASAP so I can put her out for Halloween.

Roses of Provence Framed

Already framed!! I took her in to Michaels and the framer there gave me some great tips to save money. She told me if I found an off-the-shelf frame she could mount and frame it right then. It only cost 75$, including swapping out the glass for the uv protection glass!! The best part was that it only took about an hour, instead of 2 weeks! I'm thrilled with how she turned out:)))
I'm seriously considering stitching Sabrina on the same fabric and framing her in a matching frame.

Happy Dance!! Mirabilia Roses of Provence

I've really enjoyed stitching her, the colors are soft and vintage, and I think the Sandcastle evenweave  really suits it. She still needs to be washed and ironed then she'll off for framing:)

Madame update, 3 more pages done!!

I guess what's left is mostly background. Some of her neck too. It's a bit tedious stitching just background, but it goes relatively fast.

Baby sampler from Nora Corbett's Crescent Dreams

I made this sampler for my sisters newest baby, Oliver. I haven't met him yet because we live do far apart, but I hope to soon:)
I mounted and framed it myself.

Still Life with Fruit update

So, I got a bit more done on my "Fruit". It gets to be a bit of a slog when stitching the vase and cup, there's so much darn confetti! It really slows down a lot. But, I'm getting there!

An old UFO making a comeback!

This is Lavender and Lace Angel of Winter. I started her a few years ago, and got some reason (don't remember why) I put her away. I was looking through my craft closet for some fabric, and came across her. Needless to say- she got some well-deserved attention. I really want to finish her now:)

Roses of Provence

This one is coming along nicely, I think it will be done at the next update!

Madame

Got another chunk done, finished off her bun and the oval shape of the portrait is starting to take shape.

Roses of Provence

I've been working on her lower skirt. I love the soft dreamy colors in this design, especially on the Sandcastle fabric. She's really gorgeous in person!

Back to Madame & Nora's Alphabet framed

Well now that I finished Biondina, I'm back to working on Madame. This is a Golden Kite pattern, and I'm stitching it on  18 count, full cross. After stitching Biondina in tent stitch, full cross sure does seem slow...
This is 11 pages done.
I also framed up Nora's Alphabet.

Biondina framed:)

I am so happy with how she came out! I don't usually use mats when I frame my finished pieces, so I was a bit concerned when I went to pick her up at Michaels. She's double matted and the top mat is velvet. I love how the inner mat and frame have red in them that go so well with the red in the picture. Love her!

Elizabeth and the Lavender Sky

She such a relaxing stitch, it's going along very smoothly. No beads or treasure braid. She's really fun :))

Happy Dance! Mirabilia Silver Moon Tea

After almost half a year with no finishes, I've now enjoyed several in a row:)
Silver Moon Tea was an absolute joy to stitch with her bright colors and plentiful beads. No too difficult either!  I'm going to eventually stitch Golden Apple Girl to go with her.

Chatelaine Herbarium ~ small finish

I started this large Chatelaine when the class first started, a couple years ago. I sort of fell out of love with it as it went in. I didn't love plants around it and the columns. So it languished in my project closet, until I decided to just finish it as it was! I love the intense colors and beadwork of the center, this is often the most beautiful part of Martina's designs.
I'm relieved to have it out of the closet and on my wall:D
I framed it myself today!

BIONDINA is done!!!! Happy Dance!!

Woohoo!! Can't believe she's done! I'm so happy with how she turned out:)
Here are the stats:
Golden Kite pattern: Biondina (detail)
I stitched 25 pages of this pattern.
She is stitched on 25 count fabric, 2 threads, tent stitch.
This is the first project I've completed in tent stitch. I'm still not sure my ultimate verdict on tent stitch, as compared to full cross stitch. It's definitely faster, especially for background stitching. The coverage is not quite as good when stitching the darker colors, but after washing and ironing it looks pretty good. I did get bogged down sometimes in high confetti areas, it was a bit harder to keep track than on my usual 18 count. But doable! I would use tent again.

Thanks for looking!

Nora Corbett Alphabet done

This is a hard to find alphabet sampler, designed by Nora Corbett of Mirabilia. It's a pretty quick stitch. I used a self-dyed piece of 28 count Monaco, in soft shades  of lavender and blue.

She's almost done!!!

Biondina is almost done! Only 2 more pages, then she will be done :)))

Silver Moon Tea

Another Mirabilia WIP, I started her a couple months ago but I don't think I ever posted a pic. The colors are so fun and it's surprising how well they work together.

Still Life with Fruit update

Just finished 27 out of 42 pages! I officially started this project on June 1st of 2012, so we're one year in. I think this is pretty good progress, as I tend to work on multiple projects at once. There have even been periods of weeks without touching it.
My goal is to finish this by the end of summer:)

How gorgeous is this???

This is the finished round robin from one of the other girls in my group. I stitched one if the fairies from Spring Topiary Garden. She's in the second panel from the left. I think this turned out to be one of the prettiest I've seen.

Biondina - only 5 pages left!

19 pages done, tent stitch on 25 count. I'm hoping to finish her very soon :)

Another new Mirabilia project!

Couldn't resist, I finally found this chart:)
(also I love pansies) its stitching up pretty quickly, I've only been working on it about a week. I'm using my own hand dyed fabric.

My RoundRobin came home!!

Here it is! I stitched the first pixie on the left, and the two others were stitched by ladies in North Carolina and England. I can't believe this piece had been all the way to Europe and a back! The last segment isn't stitched yet because our fourth stitcher dropped out. I'm going to finish it, and probably stitch another row of pixies directly under these four.

Two Framed Chatelaines

I just picked up these two Chats from Michaels today. The first is Spring Knotgarden, and the second is a small consolation prize from one of the Chatelaine raffles.

Rose of Provence April update

I'm enjoying her so much , although this Mirabilia had more color changes than usual.

New Stitchalong: Golden Kite Madame

I decided to start this golden kite portrait with my stitchy friend in Russia. We both started last January, but she decided to tent stitch and is already done! I'm doing full cross on 18 count and have only finished about 5 pages+.

Chatelaine Spring Knotgarden Happy Dance!!!

I'm so happy to be finished with this one, the last few corners were a real slog. I adopted it from Joyce at Random Ramblings. She had stitched the center part then decided to switch to a different fabric. I was thrilled to continue this beauty, thank you Joyce!!!!!
