New updates - finally!

I can't believe it's been more than a month since my last entry. Well, I guess it's understandable since we moved across the country at the end of November and are now in temp housing while we try to find a house. Grrr, I hate being squished in here and not knowing where anything is!
But, on the flip side I made a lot of progress on Portrait of the Daughter while driving here. She's now more than halfway done and I can definitely see finishing her this year. I also started Mirabilia's Rose Celebration, since I've had her kitted up forever and have been waiting to start her. She is a welcome distraction from the recent stresses. My Chatelaines have gone on temp hiatus for now, I really don't have the concentration right now. Happy Holidays everyone!!

HAPPY DANCE!!!! Konstantinople

It's done!!! I love the sparkles, the beaded carpets, the tulips, the beaded grapes, all of it!!! This was a one year class that I actually managed to stay caught up with :)

I also have an update of Mirabilia's Rose Arbour. We are moving soon and I'm hoping to finish her up as my "travel project".

GK Empress Eugenie update

I love this pattern so much even though it's a MONSTER! I managed to finish off 4 more pages since the beginning of Sept, though 2 were partials. This makes the total 16 pages completed.

My new project ~ the Empress Eugenie

I I I I also love Golden Kite patterns, and when this UFO came along from a friend of mine, I jumped at the chance to work on it. It's HHHUUUGGGEE , at least 150 pages, but I'm pretty sure I'm only going to stitch a detail of it ;)

Herbalarius Part 1

Yes, I broke down and started this one too....
Here is part 1, missing just the algerian eyelets around the outside(empty little squares) and the framework for part 2 (which I will just lump in with part 2). This is stitched on 32 count antique white lugana, all DMC conversion.

Fairy Idyll is FRAMED

Got her framed at Michaels. They did a great job helping me pick out the frame. I really wanted a soft "antiquey" feel, and I love how it came out.

Finished FAiry Idyll!

I can't believe I finally finished her! I've been working on her for 2 years, on and off. She's stitched on 14 count hand dyed aida (dyed it myself). I'm going to have to wait to frame her until Michaels has a good coupon :)

Spring Knotgarden part 3

Here I have finished part 3 of this lovely garden. I adore the happy spring-like colors and even the blackwork, which is usually not my fave.

GK Portrait of the Daughter update

I have not lost my stitching mojo for this piece, it seems to have captured me again :)
She is really coming to life and isn't a difficult stitch. She has large patches of solid stitching which fill in quickly. I actually did some online research on this painting, it has an interesting background. It was painted by Rembrandt Peale who was born into an artistic family in Pennsylvania(hence the name given him). He painted many pictures of American Presidents, as well as his own family members. This particular portrait is his daughter, Rosalba Peale, who appears with her sisters in other paintings as well.
I've now stitched almost 8 out of approx 30 pages (some partial). I've included the pattern pic as well for comparison.

Happy Dancin' for Mediterranean Mermaid!!!

I really enjoyed her, she's loaded with treasure braid, beads and crystals. She didn't take too long either! I stitched her on 28 count opalescent twilight lugana from Zweigart.

Spring Knotgarden

Finished Part 2, this took longer than I would have thought, but I love the delicate colors.

'Nother new project ??? maybe 2!

I just can't resist those Chatelaines! I have absolutely NO willpower when Martina releases a new design that I love. Oh well, at least I'll enjoy the ride :)
I "adopted" Joyce"s Spring Knotgarden when she decided to restitch on a different color. I'm continuing it now into part 2.
I also decided to start Medieval Octagon as most of the threads were easily subbed with DMC and I had all materials on hand, except beads.
These two classes are released every other month and they are opposite months, so maybe it'll be easier to keep up. Neither is as big as the mandalas.

IT"S DOOOOONNNNEEEE !!!

Cuba is finally DONE!!! I'm thrilled to be done with this one, because it was a slog at times, though it ended up beautiful!! I'm going to frame it and give it to my father in June. Thanks for all the encouragement everyone!
